Kathy will teach Four Season Qigong to strengthen your immune system and lung health. According to Kathy, the Lungs in Chinese medicine correspond to the Autumn season and the emotions of grief and sadness. Autumn is the season of letting go old negativity and gathering in new inspiration. In this class, Kathy Yang will introduce Chinese medical concepts, Autumn Qigong exercises and key acupressure points to prevent common illnesses and stay healthy from one season to the next.

Kathy Yang comes from a prominent Tai Chi and Qigong family. Her father is Dr. Jwing-Ming Yang, a giant in the global martial art and healing art community and famous for his supreme knowledge and skills in both internal and external martial arts as well as Qigong. Without being coerced, at a tender age of 6, Kathy started her training at Dr. Yang’s school due to her own interest. She trained with adults, mostly men. But she was fearless. She has won many titles at the national and international Tai Chi tournaments in both internal and external categories. She also appeared multiple times in Dr. Yang’s instructional marital art videos.

However, she found her true passion is in the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). She received her Master’s degree with distinction in Chinese Medicine from Middlesex University in London, UK with a joint degree from the prestigious Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. She also holds a BSc in Clinical Exercise Physiology from Boston University and was honored with a Scarlet Key Award, one of the University’s highest academic honors. She brings a wide range of clinical experience and knowledge working in a Beijing hospital and in neuroscience research at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. She has combined the wisdom and practice of the Western and Chinese medicine together to better service people in need.

  1. Violet,
I’m wondering if you’ve permanently moved to Las Vegas or if you’re returning in the next few weeks to St Louise?

    1. Linda, thanks for the question. I have moved to Vegas. We will try it out for a year and decide whether we like this place. I will return to St. Louis for sure but not in the next few weeks. My plan is in April for World Tai Chi Day. I miss St. Louis already. 🙁
